Are you a school learner between 13 and 18 years old and dreaming of seeing your stories on screen? Get ready for your close-up, because LearnOnOne and Mosaic Film Experience (from the USA!) are teaming up to launch your filmmaking journey!  

Tell Your Story, Win Big!  

Grab your phone and create a short film showcasing your definition of teamwork, collaboration and ‘The Power of We’ 

And guess what? You could win big with cash prizes of:  

  •  N$2,000 (first prize),   
  • N$1,500 (second prize),   
  • N$1,500 (People’s Choice) and   
  • N$1,000 (third prize).  

 

The Challenge:  

Your film needs to include these elements:  

  • A prop: You must feature a glass or a cup in your short film.  
  • A secret word: You must include the word “Wagwan” – whether you say it or show it written!  
  • The film should be three minutes or shorter. 

 

What to focus on:   

We’re looking for good storytelling, creativity, and originality. We’ll also check how you’ve used the required elements (the glass/cup and “Wagwan”) and your overall technical execution.  

 

Who Can Enter?  

Namibian school learners between the ages of 13 and 18 (as of June 1, 2025) are eligible!  

  • Don’t worry if you’ve never made a film before – no prior filmmaking experience is necessary!  
  • Please ensure you have obtained permission from a parent or guardian to participate.  
  • And remember, your film needs to be shot, edited, and uploaded using a mobile device.  

 

Submission Process: 

○ Upload your film and fill out a Completed entry form 

Parent/guardian consent form  

○ Film credits and acknowledgments 

○ Brief synopsis (200 words maximum) 

○ Clear, balanced audio levels 

○ Films must be downloadable (enable “Download Permissions” in privacy settings) 

○ If your film has subtitles please make sure they are “Title Safe”. For a detailed explanation of “Title Safe” please click here. 

 

Competition timelines:

  • Starting date for submissions: 13 June 2025
  • Closing date for submissions: 16 July 2025
  • Winner announcement: 11 August 2025
