Vision for Change: Michelle McLean Trust’s Visionary Project Takes Flight
For 34 years, Michelle McLean’s Trust (MMCT) championed Namibian children. Founded by Miss Universe in 1992, it provides education and support through initiatives like Michelle McLean Primary School. Recently, MMCT launched “Vision for the Future,” a project that brings clarity to those who need it most.
This initiative partnered Michelle McLean, Dr. Johanna Shuuluka of SINASRA, and Stephen Snively, Honorary Consul. SINASRA, supporting Namibians with albinism, provided visual aids. Snively’s philanthropy strengthened the mission.

“Vision for the Future” comprised four programs:
- Hand-held magnifiers delivered to learners at the School for the Visually Impaired.
- Telescopic eyeglasses provided to adults with albinism and a donation of an auto-refractor to SINASRA for accurate prescriptions.
- Prescription eyeglasses distributed to those in need, in partnership with Lions Club International.
- Customised prescription lenses were given to children after cataract surgery, with Windhoek Lions Club providing frames.
The “Vision for the Future” launch occurred on March 27th, 2025, at Michelle McLean Primary School. The event included a presentation by Dr. Shuuluka, insights from Principal Bezuidenhoudt, and performances by the school’s learners.
