LearnOnOne Stationery Drive: Bridging the Education Gap in Namibia

The LearnOnOne 2024 Stationery Drive has been a resounding success, thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the Namibian community. Windhoek witnessed a heartwarming outpouring of support, with individuals and organizations contributing mountains of stationery and other essential school supplies. This initiative is born from a partnership between LearnOnOne, Fresh FM, 99FM, and Pick n Pay Namibia. It aims to equip underprivileged learners with the tools they need to succeed.

Impactful work

LearnOnOne, a registered non-profit organization, focuses on providing supplementary education through One Africa TV and on-demand streaming. However, access to education goes beyond online resources. Many children face significant barriers to learning, including a lack of basic school supplies. This drive recognizes this critical need and strives to address it.

“We believe every child deserves a fair chance to succeed,” shared Rukee Kaakunga, LearnOnOne Brand Manager. “Providing extra lessons is vital, but we recognize the harsh reality many learners lack the resources to participate in class.”

The impact of the drive has been profound, touching donors as much as it will the recipients. Kondjeni Haufiku, co-founder of The Better Together Foundation, shared a moving anecdote about her own childhood struggles and the significance of this initiative. “Growing up in a large family, I know firsthand the challenges faced by learners from difficult backgrounds,” Kondjeni shared, her voice filled with emotion. “Our foundation is committed to making a real difference in our community, and this partnership has given us the perfect opportunity to start 2025 by investing in the future of these children.”

Powerful Partnerships

KC Butshe emphasized the alignment of this initiative with the values of 99FM and Fresh FM. This initiative reinforces 99FM’s role as an ‘Inspiration Station’, appealing to its urban professional audience by supporting education and societal advancement,” he stated. “For Fresh FM, the drive highlights its youthful, culturally rooted identity, emphasizing its commitment to uplifting the next generation and fostering positivity.”
