Ready to launch your career in children’s television? LearnOnOne, in partnership with NUST, is offering a full-time, three-week scriptwriting scholarship to NUST’s Accelerator Programme at the newly established Department of Digital Arts and Animation.
Why Children’s TV Matters
Children’s television is a powerful tool for education, inspiration, and cultural preservation. It shapes young minds, introduces them to new ideas, and fosters a sense of identity. Namibia has a unique opportunity to create content that reflects its rich heritage, diverse cultures, and vibrant landscapes.
At the same time, there is a significant gap in the market for locally produced, high-quality children’s programming. LearnOnOne says Namibia needs passionate storytellers who can create engaging and culturally relevant content that speaks directly to the hearts and minds of Namibian children.
Children’s TV is more than just entertainment. It’s a powerful tool for shaping young minds and fostering a sense of identity. We believe Namibia has a wealth of untapped storytelling talent.

What the Scholarship Offers
This scholarship is an opportunity to turn passion into a profession. Participants will explore scriptwriting for children’s television through character development, plot construction, dialogue writing, episodic storytelling, and a deeper understanding of the developmental needs of young audiences.
The three-week programme aligns with NUST’s mission to foster creativity and innovation while helping build Namibia’s growing creative industry.
How to Enter
- Write a 500-word essay explaining your aspirations and why this scholarship would be life-changing.
- Submit your essay in English through LearnOnOne’s competition page before the deadline.
- Make sure your entry is complete and that you are able to prove your eligibility for the short course if selected.
The deadline for submissions is 14 April 2025.
Terms and Conditions
- Applicants must be Namibian residents and over 18 years of age.
- Applicants must not be enrolled in a Namibian school.
- The competition is not open to employees or immediate family members of Future Media Holdings, NUST, or LearnOnOne.
- Essays must be original work and must not have been submitted elsewhere before.
- Essays must be written in English and must follow the 500-word requirement.
- Only one entry per person is allowed.
- Incomplete applications will not be considered.
- Participants should be prepared to prove that they are eligible to join the DAA Animation Skills Accelerator short course.
